MIBCOM Halloween Party

We certainly didn’t pick apples from a bowl full of holy water, but we had fun. Although we didn’t reserve anything, we managed to reserve a whole “room” on the spot. The lab’s name was Bla Bla. Really, it didn’t matter the name of the bar as long as Andy found it “bowling”(i.e. the new word for cool, but it’s cooler than cool, if you know what I mean… damn! )). Some chose the alcohol way (tough guys), some were softer and drank hot chocolate. Hubert was a little confused though. He didn’t realize what he was drinking, but he liked it as long as it was white and sweet. Cezar and his lovely Iulia thought to experiment on us a little. They brought a witch hat and transformed us. Hi, hi! Everybody wanted a picture with that hat.

Halloween apples

There are several games traditionally associated with Halloween parties. The most common is docking or bobbing for apples, in which apples float in a tub or a large basin of water; the participants must use their teeth to remove an apple from the basin. A variant of docking involves kneeling on a chair, holding a fork between the teeth and trying to drop the fork into an apple. Another common game involves hanging up treacle or syrup-coated scones by strings; these must be eaten without using hands while they remain attached to the string, an activity which inevitably leads to a very sticky face
